INT. THE OFFICE OF JULIAN CORTEZ - THE ULTRAVIOLENT COMPLEX - JUNE 25TH 2017
Sayani Barhaspati didn't give a flying fuck about being at ringside to celebrate Tiffany’s victory over Matthias Black. In fact, the beautiful Indian heiress was very frustrated over the turn of events. She didn’t even remotely pretend to understand professional wrestling, and it was just her luck that she would end up falling for someone who couldn’t separate himself from the sport. When Colton Carter had first approached her with the notion he wanted to help his former boss Gage Landon buy a wrestling company, Sayani had laughed in his face. They were full-time residents of Las Vegas, and thanks to Colton’s natural ability to cheat at every game he'd ever played, and Sayani’s money and family connections, they were definite high rollers. They lived fast and on the edge, and together they'd scammed more people out of money than Sayani cared to count. It was the perfect life they had. Sayani felt she'd definitely met her match in Colton.

INT. CAESARS PALACE HOTEL - RESTAURANT GUY SAVOY - SEVERAL MONTHS AGO
“Okay,” Sayani said and sat her fork down. “Why is this so important to you? You need to help me understand why you're suddenly so interested in purchasing a shitty little wrestling company in San Diego.” The dark eyed beauty looked across the candle lit table at her fiancée and narrowed her eyes. Despite the fact the couple had been together less than a year, Sayani felt she knew Colton pretty well. He was hiding something from her and it was time he came clean.
The scrutiny of Sayani’s gaze caused Colton to shift uncomfortably in his seat. He was certain she suspected he was hiding something, but hadn’t anticipated on being forced to elaborate on it. He was a professional liar, but it didn’t seem fair to keep lying to the woman he was going to marry. Colton sighed and sat his napkin on the table.
“There are several reasons. For one, I owe Gage a lot. He’s been good to me over the years. He gave me a chance to do what I loved to do when no one else would.”
Sayani knew that wasn’t the only reason.
“And?” she prompted.
“And I have other interests there too.”
Colton quickly downed his wine and Sayani pursed her lips. “What are they?” She was well aware of the clipped tone of her voice.
“Well, it’s just one other, actually.”
“You’re just going to piss me off if you keep beating around the bush,” Sayani snapped.
Colton sighed and finally looked into her eyes. The seriousness of his expression wasn’t something Sayani was familiar with. He was definitely the relaxed one in the relationship.
“I have a family member who works there.”
Sayani rolled her eyes. “Okay so you have a relative there. Big deal. That still doesn’t give me enough reason to go along and give you my blessing to buy a wrestling company. Especially when we are looking at hundreds of thousands of dollars. There are so many other things we can do with that instead.”
“We have several opportunities coming up to make the money,” Colton reminded her, and he wasn’t wrong. “That’s one night of work.”
“I’m not investing in a wrestling company.”
Sayani’s tone of voice was final, and Colton hated putting his foot down. “Well, I’m not giving you a choice,” he carefully replied, and immediately after those words left his lips, Sayani’s face turned red.
“Excuse me?” Sayani felt her temper rising and started to get up from the table. She had trouble holding back when she got angry and didn’t want to cause a scene in the crowded restaurant.
“Ani, wait,” Colton caught her wrist and pulled her back down.
“Why?”
“Because the man who owns So-Cal is Julian Cortez, and I’m sure if you do some digging, you’ll find out your family has probably heard of him. He’s a huge drug lord down in Mexico, and I know that for a fact. When I was living there, he used his businesses to front what he really did, and used his talent to run his supply and take care of problems so to speak. I worked one show for LLC and the place was a fuckin’ farce. The wrestlers were fuckin’ strung out everywhere. I got in, did my job, and got the hell out.”
Colton cringed at the memory.
“Now he’s using So-Cal to expand into California and putting everyone who works there in danger. The sad thing is, most of them don’t even fuckin’ know it.”
“Including this relative of yours.” Sayani sounded very skeptical. Other than Colton’s mother Claire and an ex-wife whom Sayani didn’t have a name for, she didn’t know of any other family Colton had. When her father had offered to dig into Colton’s past, Sayani had stopped him.
A guilty look crept across Colton’s face. “The relative is my daughter.”
Sayani was fairly certain she’d just heard him wrong. “Your what?”
“My daughter. Her name is Caprice.”

Sayani grit her teeth at the memory. She did not want to leave Vegas. She did not want to accept the fact that Colton had a daughter he was interested in. And she sure as hell didn’t want to be in the same sector of the universe that Ares had his people stationed in.
“Mrs. Barhaspati?”
Delaney Chamberlin stuck her head inside the door of Julian Cortez’s office. Or what used to be Cortez’s office as of the events that happened about ten minutes ago now. Sayani was sitting behind the large oak wood desk and messing with Cortez’s computer.
“What is it?” Sayani did her best not to sound annoyed.
"Mr. Carter is heading down the hallway."
"Fuck. Distract him."
Sayani quickly glanced at the computer screen. The file she had opened was labeled 'Asylum XIII' and the matches that would take place were listed:

Sayani quickly erased the dark match and twirled a strand of black hair around her finger. After a moment, she deleted the match between Matthias Black and Linc Coyne as well as Ryker Rylee’s name from the tag team match.
“No one is going to miss Matthias Black,” Sayani muttered as she started to type. “Useless piece of shit.”
She placed Linc’s name beside Noah’s, officially changing the tag team match to Noah Reigner and Linc Coyne against Aliyah Turner and Reece Crosslin. Then for the fourth match of the night, she placed Ryker’s name in there as well as Capri’s. She could hear Colton outside of the office, talking to Delaney. No doubt Delaney was briefing him on what happened with Reckoners over at Cookies ‘N Cream. With one final glance at the match card, Sayani hit send. As far as she was concerned, it was official now.
In her mind, Ryker squaring off against Colton’s daughter would accomplish two things. It would hopefully prompt Ares to take his revenge for what happened to his crew tonight on Capri. And two, it would prompt Colton to boot Ryker from So-Cal Ultraviolent after Ryker beat the shit out of Capri. It was a win/win for Sayani because she sure as hell didn’t need a teenager getting involved in her business. Colton’s epiphany that after almost 20-years he needed to be a father to this girl annoyed Sayani to no end. Colton was hers, and she needed him. They were a dream team of sorts, and Sayani didn’t want his attention on anything or anyone other than her.
“There you are.”
Colton walked into the office and immediately, Sayani got to her feet. Colton grabbed her around the waist and spun her around, crushing his lips to hers. After placing Sayani back on her feet, Colton grinned.
“It’s official, babe. So-Cal is ours.”
Sayani faked the brightest smile she could manage. “That’s wonderful!”
“You know what this means, right?”
Sayani kept that smile plastered on her face and batted her eyes. “What?!”
An arrogant smirk crossed Colton’s handsome face. “We fuckin’ celebrate.” Colton pulled her close and wrapped his arms around the small of her back.
Sayani touched her hands to Colton’s face and placed a quick kiss on his lips. She knew that the moment he saw the matches for Asylum XIII, his good mood would be short-lived.
