First and foremost, So-Cal Ultraviolent is a place for people to come and play an interactive roleplay game with friends and others. This is for fun. The management team is pretty chill and laid back, not really putting restrictions on characters or roleplays whatsoever, but rules are rules - and adhering by the following rules will help keep this a fun environment.
Role-plays for our events are judged on a single highest score basis. This means that, regardless of how many you write, only your best score will count. In the event that both characters have the same highest score, it will fall to whoever has the second highest score. If second highest scores are also tied, it will fall to third best highest score. If that is also tied, the fight will end in a draw.
We score competitive roleplays on the following factors:
I. MATCH/FEUD RELEVANCE : 20 Points
Easy enough. How well does your roleplay revolve around your match, your opponent, and your current storyline? Hype your upcoming match, let us know why you will win, and further your storyline.
II. ROLEPLAY STRUCTURE : 10 Points
How well is your roleplay put together? As long as I can read it and it flows, you'll score high. But obvious mistakes with spelling and sentence structure will get points taken away.
III. CREATIVITY/STORY TELLING : 10 Points
I’m huge on creativity. This hobby to me is a creative writing hobby. Write an essay and chances are you will score low in this category. Be creative, think outside the box, and tell me a story with your RP.
IV. ENTERTAINMENT : 10 Points
Self-explanatory. How well did you keep me and other readers entertained.
V. CHARACTER : 10 Points
This is simple enough. Stick to your character, maintain his/her voice. So many times I see people drop their character during a roleplay, in order to get a point across. If he’s a prick, play the asshole from start to finish. If he’s a good guy, stick to the good guy routine.
- If you're not sure on something, PM somebody first. Ask, everybody is always willing to help.
- PMing the admins for any reason is not frowned upon. We're friendly people, we won't be upset about answering your questions. It's our job, pretty much. Ask away.
Rule #1: Be respectful. Imagine this as the golden rule. The RPers here in SCUV work hard on their RPs and being disrespectful towards your fellow RPers, be it on the board or any personal message device (skype, twitter etc.), will not be tolerated.
Rule #2: No no-shows. If you give us a warning, the incident will be excused. But if no warning is given then this is a no-show. Your match will be an automatic loss to your character and anything you had for the show (storylined angles, etc.) will be scrapped. If you no-show twice, unless a good reason is given, you'll be released.
Rule #3: The SCUV is a fictional company and therefore we would prefer this this remained completely fictional. So we will only accept applications from Created Wrestlers. Given the size of the company it's not very realistic for a Seth Rollins or John Cena to join a small independent company, is it?
Rule #4: With a Created Wrestler base for the company, but also sticking with a form of realism as well, we are limiting Picture Bases to ONE. That means if someone is on the roster using Triple H, then that picture base is no longer allowed to be used by anyone else. If you need help picking a picture base should yours be chosen or if you're working on a new character, feel free to PM management team or ask publicly.
[ ALSO SEE RULE 8 "PRE-MADE ROSTER SELECTIONS" BELOW ]
#4.5: Along with the one Face rule, we're also adopting it for Theme Music as well.
Rule #5: The roleplay limits for Character Development pieces are non-existent. However, for the bi-weekly show "Asylum", the roleplay limits have been set to THREE per character at 850 words each.
#5.5: The roleplay limit for PPV events will be THREE per character at 1,200 words each.
Rule #6: In order to avoid “sand-bagging”, “blitzing” or whatever else you wish to call it; we operate a “one limit zone” (sometimes referred to as a 24-hour deadline in other places). This means in the final 24 hours before the deadline, you are only permitted to post ONE roleplay, presuming you haven't already reached the limit of three.
#6.5: There is a 15 minute window for people to make any edits to their RP. After that time, the board disables that option, thus preventing anyone from cheating.
Rule #7: On camera vs. off camera: All character development roleplays are off camera unless otherwise stated. All show roleplays are on camera unless otherwise stated. All show segments are off camera - your character will not know what happened in a segment unless they are in the segment or someone in the segment told them about it. All matches from the show are considered on camera.
Rule #8: For the sake of character and fed continuity, 8 Pre-Made Roster members have been created. ANYONE is encouraged to play one of these characters as their own, should they wish. These characters already have a history in the SCUV, which can be used to your advantage. The names and faces, though, have been chosen - however I am not against changing a pre-made picture base if the case suits. Once the pre-made choice is picked, of course, another person cannot use that character. The names have been chosen for these characters, but everything else (moves, stats, music, etc.) is up to you completely.
Rule #9: There are only two ways to be added to the next Asylum (or iPPV) card. The first way is to Opt In. The Friday prior to the final deadline of the current event, an Opt In thread is created for people to reply to. The opt in thread is closed on Monday night - the day before results are posted. Post in this thread if you're available and interested in a match for the following Asylum (or iPPV). The second way to be booked is for storyline purposes. If you're in a storyline that a match is 100% needed on the next show, then it is mandatory for you to be booked. -- These ways are the only way you will be booked. Messaging me via DM or in the chat box is no longer accepted. The Pre-Made Roster is as follows.

We score competitive roleplays on the following factors:
I. MATCH/FEUD RELEVANCE : 20 Points
Easy enough. How well does your roleplay revolve around your match, your opponent, and your current storyline? Hype your upcoming match, let us know why you will win, and further your storyline.
MATCH RELEVANCE (5 PTS): Is your match a contenders match? Did you mention it? Is your match have a special stipulation? Did you mention it? Is there more than one opponent? Did you mention all opponents? If your match is a hardcore match? Did you mention it?
STORY RELEVANCE (5 PTS): Did you talk about your feud; current storyline, or was the entire roleplay just focused on your match? Yeah, I understand the whole point of the RP is to win your match. However, there is always a bigger picture than just the match.
SELL (5 PTS): Sell your match. Tell me why I should pay attention to your match, why your match is going to be the match of the night. When I read your competitive roleplay, does it make me want to tune in and watch your match? Do I see it as, a can’t miss?
ARGUMENT (5 PTS): Is a logical argument, supported by facts, for why you will win the match. Gather information on your opponent, using: profiles, social media, previous RP’s and results. Try to steer clear of all the generic trash talk like, “you suck,” and “you’re nobody.”
CREATIVITY (5 PTS): Easy enough. How creative were you with your piece. Is there a theme to your RP? Did you bring something different to the table? If you do a flashback; that ties into the present day, does the now and then all tie together? The more creative you are with your piece, the higher you will score here.
STORYTELLING (5 PTS): Pretty self-explanatory. Did your roleplay form a story? We are looking for more than just the generic dialogue promo, or your character standing in front of a camera. We want to read a story. An engaging story. With interaction between your characters and their supporting cast.
IV. ENTERTAINMENT : 10 Points
Self-explanatory. How well did you keep me and other readers entertained.
V. CHARACTER : 10 Points

And then to cap this all off, just a few more general tips for everyone.
- If you're not sure on something, PM somebody first. Ask, everybody is always willing to help.
- PMing the admins for any reason is not frowned upon. We're friendly people, we won't be upset about answering your questions. It's our job, pretty much. Ask away.
- If you're struggling with your RPs and need some help, let us know. We want to help you become the best RPer you can possibly be, but we can't help if we don't know you need it.
