#FISTOFHYDRA 8.1
Anger is one letter short of Danger.
What happened to calm and collected? How had that turned into I will bite your head off? She didn’t know. Or better said: Elena didn’t take the time to observe the situation. Her whole body was filled with tension and a rage so new and hard to accept. It almost took her breath away, making her chest tight and keeping her blood at a constant boiling point.
You fucked up. Again.
Less than 24 hours ago, she’d ripped into a person that was closest to her heart. Finn Whelan. For what? Insecurity. She’d been on the edge for the past few weeks, but none of it was his fault. He had done what Elena always wanted him to do: grow up and take the world by storm. Little did she know that without him, she felt empty. Everything exploded via social media, an unusual turn of events.
I got nothing more to say to you.
A lie. A big fat lie. From a kid that was just attacking everything and everyone around her, no matter friend or foe. She had an irrational fear of losing people, combined with a sick stomach. The incident with Rumble Reyes breaking into her house changed everything. She was paranoid.
Elena sat outside in the wintergarden, watching the staff taking care of the property. Always near by was a handful of security and her daughter. She hadn’t let her out of sight once since returning home. The little girl that meant the world to her -or to be exact, became her world when the doctor placed her in her arms. Currently Isabella was focused on drawing her favourite subject: ducks.
“You feel better?” Christian’s voice almost made her jump. “I wasn’t sure when you would get up after…”
“After you drugged me?” She wasn’t really mad. But once again felt itchy. “I was in total control of …”
“Total control?” His voice was deep but still calm and collected. “Is that what we call it when we attack family?”
For a moment, she didn’t say anything, instead she gave him an evil glare. If there was one thing Elena hated more than being caged, it was logic used against her, especially when still feeling groggy from those damn sleeping pills combined with the pounding pain in her hand.
“He challenged me… I mean… he...left and…” A small pause. “He hasn’t done anything wrong, has he? I was just a cunt. Like I have been the past weeks to everyone, when my anger should be on Rumble.”
Christian gave a small nod and a confident smirk on his face. He moved his hands in an unthreatening manner and stared at Elena, not taking his eyes off hers. “See, you got it. You’re not a monster Elena, you’re just stressed and the pills….well, you needed sleep. Rumble needs to feel your anger, not Finn, not me...not anyone but him…”
“But what am I supposed to do? This guy can break me in half if he gets his hands around me. I have seen him wrestle, no matter how hard I get him -- he will probably laugh about it. I am not scared of Rumble Reyes, I am just tired Christian. I go to war every given day, but no one ever dared involving my princess.” Her eyes fell on Izzy. “The only creature in this scenario that is innocent. This guy ain’t a monster, he is a piece of shit that needs to be stopped. And… I don’t know… how.”
Christian rubbed his chin with a small laugh. “Oh Elena. Rumble doesn’t know what he has done; truth is, you don’t know what he has done.” He leaned forward, close to whisper in her ear. “You are a furious storm, and he has crossed that line that most hold sacred. You are a mother and he threatened your child...he’s a victim...he just doesn’t know it yet…”
She looked at him, getting a better view as the pills slowly started to wear off. She leaned on her injured hand before feeling the sharp pain.
Clever Elena. Applause.
“Do you know how much strength it cost me to not kill him right at the arena? To not rip into him and spill his guts all over the floor. I don’t care if people belittle what and who I am, if they piss on my achievements and legacy. But never has anyone dared to break into my private life. Fuck the Television Title. Fuck what management expects of me.” A small growl escaped her. “And fuck Rumble Reyes for thinking he got it all figured out. This is the time for war and not looking into records and statistics.”
Christian turned and picked Izzy up in his arms, his hand drifting to her face. Elena moved herself from the huge chair, cuddling into both of them.
“Time to raise hell. Let the monster meet it’s demons.”
