Immediately Following Asylum XI
Sirens flood the parking lot area behind the Ultraviolent Complex. Their flashing red lights illuminate the puddle of blood directly behind the ambulance. When Zander's eyes fluttered open, he watched as his wife's limp body was carried off into the night. Everything was blurry and fuzzy around the edges. He did the only thing he could. The bearded beauty screamed for help. His desperate, guttural screams went unanswered. Because the security team had been fired earlier in the night. There was no one to help. There was no one to save Rowan. She was gone.
He reached into his pocket and called 9-1-1.
Currently, the devoted husband sat on the ledge on the back of an ambulance. His knee was wrapped up and a large bandage has been placed on the back of his head, where the attacker hit him. Blood was soaking into the bandage and he held an ice pack over it as instructed by the emergency responders.
A blonde EMT steps around the rig and looks down at Zander. "Sir, we need to get you to the hospital. You need stitches and a CT scan. There could be internal damage and it's critical that we get ahead of it."
He let out a sigh and glanced up at the woman standing before him. As he looked up, you could see that his knuckles were bloody and his left eye had nearly swollen shut. The blonde looked at him with pity and he clenched his hands into fists as he stared a hole through her.
"I am not going anywhere until the fucking police show up. I will stay here until tomorrow if I have to. MY FUCKING WIFE WAS TAKEN! SOMEONE TOOK HER!" His loud voice roared and she took a small step back. "Rumble fucking Reyes took my wife and I suggest you get the cops down here. They better pray they find him before I do. Because I'll fucking kill him."
The first responder simply nodded.
If he could walk, he'd be pacing. He replayed the moment over and over again in his head. Zander let his wife down. Someone took her right from underneath him and he didn't do anything to stop it. She was in his arms moments ago and now she could be dead. The thought of his made his stomache churn. The thought of her limp, lifeless body made him want to violently retch.

An hour passed before the police showed up. When Detective Lindzee Holston stepped out of the cruiser Zander couldn't help but let out a laugh. How fucking ironic. Less than a month ago, Lindzee had been determined to lock the Blackwood's up. That was before his flawless wife murdered Breanna Simpson and framed Derek Armistead's wife.
If this wasn't Karma. He didn't know what was.
Lindzee approached him cautiously, crossing her arms across her chest.
"Mr. Blackwood. I hear you want to file a missing person's report?"
"A missing person's report? I was attacked and Rumble Reyes took my fucking wife! He kidnapped her."
"And what makes you think it was him?"
"I fucking saw him!" Zander pointed to the camera affixed to the outside of the Ultraviolent Complex. It was facing the pool of blood on the ground. "Check the fucking tapes! He took my fucking wife! So get that smug look off of your face and fucking find her!"
Lindzee glanced to the camera and back to Zander. His blood was boiling and it felt like he was being stabbed in the back of the head.
Holston held a lot of content for this man, but she was the ultimate professional. "We'll open an investigation Mr. Blackwood. But I won't file a missing person's case until I'm sure there was foul play."
